Prototype To Doorstep

What began as a pandemic project has blossomed into an inspiring small business. During my extensive travels around the world, I faced a common dilemma: often needed quick access to my phone while juggling a suitcase with one hand and holding a coffee or snack with the other. This annoyance resulted in my phone being stuffed into a pocket or lost in my backpack, leading to scratched cases and screens. Not to mention the concern of having it "too close for comfort" in my front pocket.

This experience sparked the idea for StrapMag! A patent pending, backpack-friendly device that can be easily worn for both right-handed and left-handed users, that attaches to your phone!

Meet The Creator

Hey, I’m Shay! The creator of StrapMag. I’ve spent my entire career in hospitality, traveling the world while opening hotels, short-term rental projects, and more. From five-star resorts to remote outposts, I’ve navigated the world one check-in at a time, averaging 275 nights away from home every year. Over a decade of travel with a mobile phone jammed in my pocket, lost or damaged in my backpack, or having multiple phones to juggle, I decided to stop adapting and got scrappy. That’s how StrapMag was born—the strap-friendly travel essential designed by a nomad, for the nomad, to make phone storage on-the-go a little more easier and safer. When I started, it was a beautiful mess of 3M tape, camera mounting magnets, heavy-duty industrial clamps, and a makeshift clip from a utility belt. It wasn't pretty, but it solved my problem. It gave me instant, secure access to my phone without jammed pockets or the backpack shuffle. That absolute mess-of-a contraption proved that if you can't find the perfect tool, you build it. Today, those taped-together parts have been refined into StrapMag. A sleek, interchangeable clip that adapts modern technology with convenience!
